From traditional methods to modern practices, the Tshatsi Processing Unit group under Nanong Gewog successfully completed three-days intensive training on post-harvest handling and packaging from April 7th to 9th, 2026.

The training combined practical, hands-on field sessions with farmers, allowing participants to learn by doing while also appreciating the value of traditional methods. At the same time, modern techniques in handling, processing, and packaging were introduced to enhance product quality, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve market readiness.

This initiative not only strengthened the capacity of the group but also reinforced the importance of blending indigenous knowledge with improved practices to ensure sustainable and efficient agricultural development. The active participation and enthusiasm shown by the farmers made the training both impactful and meaningful.

Such capacity building programs play a vital role in empowering local communities, improving livelihoods, and promoting value addition at the grassroots level.
