Civil Service Wellness Day was observed in Pemagatshel Dzongkhag under the theme “Healthy Civil Service, Healthy Nation.” The event was graced by the Dasho Dzongdag as Chief Guest, who emphasized the importance of maintaining good physical health for a productive and balanced life. Dasho highlighted that the occasion was not only about activities such as marathon, Sorig yoga, Luejong, Zumba, and NCD screening, but also a reminder to adopt and sustain healthy lifestyle practices in daily life.
The CMO of Dzongkhag Hospital conducted an awareness session on NCD prevention, focusing on key lifestyle changes including reducing alcohol consumption, engaging in at least 30 minutes of daily exercise, limiting salt intake to 5 grams per day, reducing fatty foods, avoiding junk food, and increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables.
Civil servants from across the dzongkhag actively participated in the event with enthusiasm. The day concluded with the awarding of prizes to marathon winners in both male and female categories, along with a lucky draw for participants of Sorig Zhiney, Luejong, and Zumba. All participants were also provided free NCD screening by the Dzongkhag Hospital NCD team.
