The Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Screening Program has commenced across all Health Care Centres under Pemagatshel Dzongkhag, starting from 1 September 2026.Screening Target Population: All individuals aged 18–64 years.Our goal is to achieve 100% screening coverage of the eligible population and strengthen the early detection, prevention, and management of NCDs.

Key Objectives

1. Early detection, diagnosis and referral of hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
2. Prevention of complications through standardized treatment and follow-up.
3. Strengthening health promotion for the prevention and control of NCDs.
4. Improving equitable access to prevention, screening and management services.

Key Screening Components

The screening will include:

• Screening for overweight and obesity
• Screening for high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Screening for raised blood glucose (diabetes)
• Estimation of 10-year cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk using the WHO/ISH CVD Risk Chart
