The 33rd Dzongkhag Education Conference: A Landmark Event for Academic Excellence
The 33rd Dzongkhag Education Conference, centered on the theme “Foundations for the Future: Elevating Standards and Student Outcomes,” successfully concluded after two days of visionary planning and intensive deliberation. The presence of Dasho Dzongdag, Dasho Dzongrab, and Sector Heads at both the opening and closing ceremonies underscored the administration’s deep commitment to the evolution of education in the Dzongkhag. From dawn until dusk, Principals and Focal Teachers engaged in rigorous dialogue to chart a transformative course for the academic year ahead.
In the closing address, Dasho Dzongdag reaffirmed his unwavering support for the sector, announcing that over 30% of the FY 2026-2027 budget is earmarked for school infrastructure and development. Dasho lauded the Education Sector’s innovative spirit, specifically the Dzongkhag Education Strategic Roadmap, the Teacher Performance Dashboard, and the new Google Sites platform, all of which serve as pillars for transparency and data-driven excellence.
The administration also celebrated the sector’s success in maintaining high board examination standards through the use of a customized item analysis system and a culture of continuous performance review.
Inspired by the moving story of Thomas Edison, Dasho challenged educators to see past academic labels and unlock the “hidden genius” within every learner. Together, with renewed energy and strategic clarity, we are building a more inclusive and resilient foundation for our students and the nation.
