The Hon’ble Opposition Leader, Dasho Pema Chewang, along with Dasho Naiten Wangchuk, Member of Parliament, and officials from the Department of Tourism (DoT), visited PemaGatshel Dzongkhag and held a tourism stakeholder meeting with Dzongkhag officials, Gups and Gaos from all eight gewogs, sector heads, and local tourism stakeholders.
The meeting provided a platform to review the current tourism status of the Dzongkhag and to discuss its potential and challenges. Officials from the Department of Tourism presented an overview of tourism performance, regional tourism development initiatives, and future plans and programmes, while the Dzongkhag administration shared key insights on local tourism conditions and the strategic way forward for PemaGatshel Dzongkhag.
The session concluded with an open discussion, allowing stakeholders to share concerns, provide recommendations, and explore possible support from the Department of Tourism and the Government to strengthen and sustainably develop tourism in PemaGatshel Dzongkhag.
