The Dzongkhag Administration, Pema Gatshel observed World Environment Day on 4th June, 2018 at Pema Gatshel Middle Secondary School with the Theme "Beat Plastic Pollution" coinciding with 28th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen.
The Program was graced by Officiating Dzongda, Dasho Dzongrab of the Dzongkhag yesterday. To reduce the usage of plastics the Dzongkhag organized an exhibition to compete among various schools, ECCD centers and communities under the Dzongkhag where the students showcase creative methods to put the waste plastics into best use by making decorative items to the things that we daily use like baskets, slippers and bags.
The winners of the Exhibition were awarded with attractive prizes and encouraged to further promote the best use of plastics and reduce the plastic usage as far as possible. And every participating schools and communities were also awarded with consolation prizes for their active participation in reducing the plastic usage.
