The Second Phase of Million Fruit Trees Program

The second phase of Million Fruit Trees Program in Pema Gatshel Dzongkhag kicked off with the  ceremonial plantation of seven kiwi plants. The inaugural plantation was graced by Dasho Dzongdag, Lam Neten, Regional and Sector Heads. 

1,08,436 of 11 high value fruit trees will be planted this year under MFTP phase 2 in the Dzongkhag. 11735 will be temperate fruits and 96701 will be subtropical fruits. This is aimed at enhancing the livelihood and income generation capacity of people in the Dzongkhag.
