On the auspicious occasion of Dawa Drukpa Tshe Zhi, commemorating the First Sermon of Lord Buddha, the seven-day Gongdue Drupchen commenced today at Yongla Goenpa.
The prayers are dedicated to the long life, good health, and well-being of His Majesty The Druk Gyalpo, as well as to the peace, harmony, and prosperity of the nation and the welfare of all sentient beings.
The opening ceremony was attended by officials from the Dzongkhag Administration, Gups, representatives of regional offices, members of the monastic community, and lay devotees, all gathered to offer prayers and receive blessings on this sacred occasion.
The Gongdue Drupchen will continue until 24 July 2026.
