In a landmark step towards strengthening the quality of education through improved learning environments, Nangkor Central School has embarked on a major infrastructure enhancement programme that promises to transform the school’s physical landscape and enrich the educational experience of its learners. The initiative reflects the MoESD’s unwavering commitment to investing in quality education by creating safe, modern, and learner-centred school environments that inspire excellence, innovation, and holistic development.
On 30 June 2026, a formal site handover and coordination meeting for the construction and renovation of school infrastructure at Nangkor Central School was convened in the presence of Dasho Dzongrab, sector heads from the Dzongkhag Administration, officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MoIT), the officials from Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), the School Management Team, and the contractor. During the meeting, all stakeholders reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring the timely, coordinated, and quality implementation of the project.
The school enhancement programme, valued at Nu. 283 million, is scheduled to commence on 3 July 2026 and is expected to be completed by 3 July 2028. The project represents one of the most significant investments in educational infrastructure for the school and will substantially upgrade its facilities to better support teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.
More than a construction project, this initiative signifies a transformative investment in the future of our children. By creating a modern, inclusive, and conducive learning environment, the enhanced infrastructure will enable students and teachers to thrive in spaces designed to foster creativity, collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence. It also reinforces the Ministry’s vision of ensuring equitable access to quality education through improved school infrastructure across the country.
As construction begins, the collective commitment of the implementing agencies, the school community, and the contractor will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of this landmark project. Once completed, the transformed Nangkor Central School will stand as a lasting symbol of progress, opportunity, and hope-providing generations of learners with an environment where they can realise their fullest potential and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.
